Bedroom Department Manager – Full Time – Castlebar

An exciting opportunity has arisen at McDermott’s Furniture as we continue to grow and bring our style to homes across Ireland.

Our approach is simple: we employ nice people to sell nice furniture to nice homes. From our Mayo roots, we have been proudly serving customers from our Castlebar showroom for over 60 years – a journey that recently led to the opening of our brand new second showroom in Ennis, Co. Clare. We now deliver to homes across all 32 counties on the island of Ireland.

We are now seeking an experienced and commercially-minded Bedroom Department Manager to take ownership of our Bedroom department at our Castlebar showroom. This role combines sales excellence with category ownership – someone who knows the bedroom furniture market, takes pride in how the department is presented, and drives results within their own area

About the role

  • Delivering a premium, consultative sales experience within the Bedroom department

  • Taking ownership of the department’s presentation, merchandising, and stock levels

  • Building strong knowledge of bedroom furniture ranges and suppliers

  • Building strong, long-term relationships with clients

  • Representing the McDermott’s brand with professionalism and warmth at all times

About you

  • Proven experience in furniture, interiors, or homeware sales is essential

  • Strong product and category knowledge, or the ability to develop it quickly

  • Proven ability to close sales while maintaining an excellent customer experience

  • Well-presented, personable, and naturally engaging

  • Commercially aware, with an eye for merchandising and presentation
