Returns policy for special or custom orders after delivery has been completed

Can I return a Custom Order after I have accepted delivery? (This applies to both online & In-store special or custom orders)

At McDermotts we understand that from time to time Customers can choose a product that may not always be suitable for their home. Bad decisions can be made – Wrong colour? Wrong size? Wrong style? To help, we offer a re-stocking service, especially for Custom Made products, which are not typically returnable…just let us know within 10 days of delivery and we will arrange for collection of the goods and place them into our Outlet for re-sale. Please be aware that to help alleviate the costs associated with this service, we charge an 18% restocking fee PLUS the cost of collection (€49 in Connacht, €99 in Donegal, Monaghan, Cavan, Longford, louth, Meath, Westmeath, Dublin, Offaly, Kildare, Laois, Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Clare & Limerick) or €149 in the rest of the Country. Collection will be arranged for the next time one of our delivery crews is in your area. (To avoid the collection fee you may arrange for the item to be delivered to our warehouse at your own expense – any items so returned shall be examined by our warehouse team for damage prior to issuing any credit). Please note that for hygeine reasons, pillows, bedlinen & mattresses, once opened, are excluded from the list of goods that we will accept for return & restock. Also, any item that requires specialist installation, such as carpet & floorcovering, home cinema wall installations and so on, are not covered by this scheme. Once we have accepted a returned item, we will calculate the restocking fee and any relevant collection charge, debit this amount from your account and then the remaining balance will be placed in credit for you to use as you wish – towards a reselection or from any other department within our stores.
